Dear Friends, May, 2011

I am reflecting on a story, probably apocryphal but which I am going to believe because I like it, about catching monkeys. Tribesmen somewhere craft a heavy pot with a hole in it large enough that a monkey could insert an open hand, but not withdraw a closed fist. They then put monkey food in the pot. The monkey reaches in, grabs the food and, refusing to let go when the hunters approach, is caught and then eaten.

Since the 1920’s God has been systematically expelled from government schools. God-less education gave rise to tight skirts and loose morals. The monkey cannot let go of god-less secular education.

Sex education was introduced in the late 1960’s because of false presuppositions of lowering teen pregnancy. An outbreak of teen pregnancies soon occurred. But the monkey can’t let go of sex education.

Planned Parenthood was invited into schools to solve the newly created problem. PP promised to reduce teen pregnancies with birth control and condoms. The monkey cannot let go of birth control.

PP seduced young people into more promiscuity increasing teen pregnancy and creating an epidemic of venereal disease. Child sacrifice was added to child aversion.

PP encouraged young people to participate in sterile acts of oral sex and sodomy. More disease, more teen pregnancies, and break-down of traditional families.

The Morning After Pill, telemedicine abortions, School Based Clinics offer easy access to birth control and abortions. Children’s Rights, parents kept in the dark, judicial bypass, statutory rape by teachers and others.

Every year PP is given increased public and private funding fueling the fires it created. Mega Planned Parenthood fortresses are being built all over the country. As America becomes bankrupt budgets are cut. Not Planned Parenthood! The monkey cannot let go of Planned Parenthood!

Our nation bleeds. Each day a new gash is added to her mortal wounds. Yet we cling desperately to the mill stone around our neck. More condoms, more birth control, more children sacrificed.

Muslim families thrive as Christian families wilt. Entire family bloodlines are wiped out. Blacks and other minorities are targeted for extinction. Christian families have the recommended two children, many have one or none. Many live in sin, jumping from one bed to another without so much as jumping over a broomstick. Sodomite and lesbian couples are rewarded children stolen from their parents by the SS (Social Services).

Baby-Boomers weigh in heavy on the government dole. In 1950 there were 16 people working for every Social Security recipient. Today the ratio is 3.3 to 1. 60 million workers are aborted, yet the monkey can’t let go.

Towns and cities are dying. 60-120 million pairs of shoes will not be sold this year. Is Planned Parenthood killing your business? Bureaucracy employs vast numbers yet produces nothing. Politicians drone about wanting “smaller government.” How? Eliminate the Departments of Education, or Health and Human Services? We cannot seem to eliminate funding to Planned Parenthood! We can pretend that the current recession is temporary and not a manifestation of our dying culture which is the bitter fruit of our culture of death. Alarmed, we “Eeeek-Eeeek!” in panic. But we cannot hide, we cannot run, and we cannot let go.

Iowa – Nebraska Tour

We are planning an Iowa – Nebraska Tour in one of the last two weeks of August. We will be displaying images of aborticide in cities which have never seen these displays before.

Please contact us if you are interested in participating in this tour.

American Atheist Nation Convention

On Good Friday Randy Crawford joined Donna and me in a witness at the American Atheist Convention in Des Moines, Iowa. We engaged many attendees when they had a smoke outside. “Do you like to smoke?” we asked. “You will be smoking a plenty when you get to hell!”

“How many of you are atheists?” I asked. They raised their hands. “Prove to me there is no God.”

Several hundred attended. We had many good conversations. The organizers told us they were afraid no protestors would come. I told them we are not protesting, we are warning them. We recognize their right to burn in hell. One asked “Will God send me to hell for my belief?” “No God will send you to hell for your unbelief.”

Randy distributed hundreds of gospel tracts at the door. Many asked him if he was a Christian. He honestly answered he is an agnostic. They eagerly took the tracts and read them (probably twice). Randy was eventually ordered off their property.

Iowa City – Des Moines Planned Parenthoods

40 Days for Life people came to these death camps during the season of Lent. Babies were saved just by the presence of people at these clinics. Many who come for abortions have enough doubt to warrant a change of mind.

One couple stayed in their car for an hour vacillating back and forth as people prayed. They eventually left waving at us through tearful smiles.

The Tree of Life has low hanging fruit. But there are stubborn fruit which may be shook loose from its branches with hard preaching.

Most of the “Pray-ers” who come during the season of Lent do not come back. They did their bit.

Jesus asked His disciples to pray with Him for an hour while His soul anguished in blood sweat.

So it is with an hour deathwatch at Planned Parenthood it may not seem like much but it is not without meaning, relevance, or reward.

ACOG (American College of Gynecologists and Obstetrics)

Washington Convention Center, Washington DC Monday, May 2nd & 3rd 2011

One doctor admonished me while I was preaching to ACOG convention attendees. He said “less than 5% of ACOG members are abortionists. Most of the doctors you are preaching to are the 95% “good doctors.”

I told him “If I belonged to the Klu Klux Klan would I be a good Klan member for not lynching blacks or burning down their houses or barns? Would my reputation not be besmirched by the reputation of the organization I belonged to? Do not the “good doctors” lend the abortionists their reputations, virtue, and their honor through mutual membership in ACOG? Do they not surrender their “goodness” for an indirect cut of the blood money made off of ACOG approved abortions?

Milwaukee Missionaries to the Preborn drove and parked their Truthtruck around the Washington Convention Center. Notice the knife wielding abortionist symbol mocks ACOG’s delivery doctor symbol.

4000 Americans are killed every day by ACOG OBGYNS. 1 out of every 3 Americans are aborted. None of them are “pro-choice.” None of them are “pro-choice.” Abortion is the leading cause of death among Americans!

Osama bin Laden loved it! Osama may have been responsible for the killing thousands of Americans, but he was a small time terrorist compared to many ACOG OBGYNs. Kermit Gosnell, Tiller the Killer, Alexander Jacobowski, Richard Ragsdale, and thousands of other ACOG OBGYNs have killed tens or even hundreds of thousands of Americans under a color of law, under pretence of medicine and “choice.”

Donna Holman and Anne Franczek distribute literature while Tom Meyers preaches to passersby

More of a threat than Al-Qaeda, ACOG has murdered over 60 million Americans over these past 39 years!

Don Spitz preaches on a corner near Ron Brock’s Truthtruck.

Right to Left: Don Spitz, Colin Hudson, Matt Trewhella, Nathaniel Provan, John Brockhoeft, Donna Holman, Ann Franczek, Tom Meyer, and Ron Brock. Many of us are former military servicemen.

When we finished ministering at ACOG we got as close as we could get to the Pentagon (under the bridge) to send our heartfelt message to the US Armed Forces.

Hansen: Atheists are in town, so Scriptural spats heat up

Donna Holman of Keokuk makes her Christian beliefs known on this sign she holds Friday outside the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines, which is hosting the American Atheists National Convention through Sunday. / CHRISTOPHER GANNON/THE REGISTER

Standing in the drizzle outside the Embassy Suites, Larry Carter Center and Dan Holman somehow found themselves arguing about the Bible.

You don’t see much of that on East First and Locust streets, even on a Good Friday during the American Atheists National Convention.

Most of the atheists, agnostics, freethinkers and secular Americans were inside chatting collegially with one another, waiting to hear how they have become the fastest-growing segment of the population and how organized religion is heading for extinction.

It wasn’t the typical Easter sermon because this wasn’t the typical Easter flock. Carter Center, who ran for City Council in Des Moines before moving to South Carolina, said he founded the atheist and freethinker group in Des Moines many years ago.

He also said Holman, of Keokuk, was “worshipping a fictional character from a torturous and pornographic book.”

He proceeded to cite Ezekiel 23:20, which says something about lust and donkey genitals, which Carter Center translated into sex with donkeys.

“It’s in there,” he said. “Read it.”

“It’s not in there, Larry,” Holman said. “You’re a liar.”

Then Larry mentioned Isaiah and started shouting “rip open the bellies of pregnant women.” After that, he moved on to Kings.

“I know the Bible,” he said.

“You don’t know the Bible.”

Larry accused Dan of being insane and a fool and needing help. Dan uttered what might turn out to be the quote of the convention: “Larry, you’re going to hell. God hates you. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.”

Wait a minute, Dan, do you really believe God hates Larry?

“Certainly, it says that right in the Scriptures. It’s right there in Psalms.”

By this time, Larry was walking away, spouting more chapter and verse, shouting something biblical about “horse semen.”

As Larry walked away, a woman waiting to cross the street asked Dan why he was so angry.

“I’m not angry,” Dan said. “God is angry. We’re here to give them a friendly warning before they plunge into hell. We’ve had good conversations out here with everyone but Larry.”

That might be because most of the nonbelievers aren’t out to convert believers. In the president’s address, Dave Silverman said he isn’t recruiting theists. Instead, he’s after “church pew atheists” who secretly believe there is no God.

“Our only course of action,” Silverman told the ballroom crowd, “is to address the church pews directly and coax the atheists out of the pews.”

But back to Dan and Larry and the woman waiting to cross the street. Ann from Mason City said she was in Des Moines with her husband, who was attending FBI National Academy training.

She said she was Roman Catholic and told Dan he should put his energy into praying really hard for Larry.

“If somebody’s house was on fire,” Dan replied, “you’d warn them, wouldn’t you?”

“I also believe in a God,” Ann said, “who no matter what you believe in, when you die, if you’ve led a good life, God is going to forgive you.”

Larry disagreed with Ann, who disagreed with Larry, after which they traded more Bible verses.

Dan’s picture and note: After I told them the Bible does not ever imply that “God loves everyone,” Ruby and Dennis Hopper are on the phone with their pastor “Where is that bible verse that says ‘God loves everybody?’” They did not believe me when I told them the Bible has lots to say about what and who God hates: Psalm 3:7; 5:5-6; 7:11-13; 9:17; 10:15; 11:4-6; 97: 10; 139:21-22; Prov. 6:16; 8:13; John 7: 7; Luke 19:27

(Continue Des Moine Register article)

When Ann finally got around to crossing the street, another woman put down her protest sign long enough to say she disagreed with Larry, too. God doesn’t hate anyone.

Her name is Ruby Hopper and she’d come in from Clinton with her husband, Dennis. (Dennis Hopper. That is correct.)

“We believe God loves everyone equally,” Ruby said.

“He just hates what they do wrong,” added Dennis.

Ruby said the godless people going in and out of the hotel had been very friendly. I took that as a sign.

Inside, people were registering, buying lifetime memberships, looking at the books and the hand-made ceramic jewelry. The “Scarlet A” and “Darwin Tree” necklaces seemed to be popular.

They were checking out the bumper stickers that said things like, “I was born all right the first time.”

Amanda Metskas was singing the praises of Camp Quest (slogan: “It’s beyond belief!”). The camp offers most of the normal camping activities in addition to “Cafe Socrates,” which is for kids who want to be philosophers when they grow up.

Silverman welcomed the group to “the largest American atheist convention ever.”

He called himself an atheist extremist: “I hate being called a militant atheist. Militant Christians blow up abortion clinics. Militant Muslims blow up trade centers. Apparently, militant atheists put up billboards.”

When Silverman asked the ballroom crowd if this was their first atheist event ever, most people raised their hands.

“Des Moines isn’t a Christian city,” he said. “It’s an American city.”

Silverman got the ballroom going again when he said atheists, agnostics, freethinkers and secular Americans were the fastest-growing segment of the population.

Silverman alluded to a scientific study using census data that found religion in nine countries — Australia, Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland — is set for extinction.

He mentioned the big million-man type of event planned for the summer of 2013 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

It wasn’t the kind of Easter sermon Iowans are used to, but the ones in the ballroom room seemed to approve.

Dan’s Note: Randy Crawford distributed hundreds of gospel tracts at the door leading into the convention before being ordered off the property. Randy was often asked if he is a Christian. Randy truthfully answered “I am an agnostic.” They gleefully took our gospel literature from Randy and read it!
